9:30 a.m.: leave for Disney hall tour from hotel in vans – RESERVATION NEEDED – please e-mail Angela Yeung, ayeung@sandiego.edu ($15 per person for Disney Hall visit).
10-11 a.m.: tour of Disney hall
11 a.m.: drive back to Long Beach
12 noon: lunch in Long Beach at local restaurant(s)
1-4 p.m.: California State U, Long Beach, CA
- presentation: Sergio Bernal (Utah State University), “El Sistema: its relevance in the community in general and the college music programs in particular”
- open discussion
4:00 p.m.: leave for Orange County Performing Arts Center
5:00 p.m.: dinner at restaurant(s) near OCPAC
6-7:30 p.m.: Talk by Maestro Carl St. Clair at OCPAC
8 p.m.: Pacific Symphony concert (Brahms III Symphony and Rachmaninoff III Pno Concerto) – RESERVATION NEEDED – please e-mail Angela Yeung, ayeung@sandiego.edu (group ticket $20-30 range)
9:30-11 p.m.: reception at OCPAC or concert talk-back with Maestro St. Clair
Sunday, February 8
9 a.m.: Brunch at hotel, possible closing discussions, departures
